OYSL Play Offs
In order to clarify some questions we have received regarding player eligibility for the playoffs please see below:
Players must have been registered with the team by August 15th in order to play in the competition. However, players may "play up" to the team participating in the playoffs if he/she was registered with the participating team's Club by August 15th. This means that the player must have been registered with the team from which he/she is "playing up" by August 15th.
A player registered with a Youth Level 1 League is ineligible to play in the competition.
If a player is registered with another team in the club, he/she cannot be transferred, or de-registered and re-registered, with the team participating in the playoffs or with another team from which to "play-up" into the team participating in the playoffs unless it was done by August 15th.
In order for a player to "play up" into the playoff team, the playoff team would have to be considered a higher level team than the one the player is registered to as per OSA registration Policy 15. 1(c) In order for your playoff team to be considered a higher level team it must meet one of the criteria outlined in OSA registration Policy 15.3.
Please note that a player on a Club's B team may not "play up" into the Club's A team if those teams are in the same division. For example, if the A team and B team both play in the Youth Level 3 League (which consists of one division only), a player from the B team may not "play up" into the A team.
OSA Registration Policy:
15.1 c)he/she plays for a higher level Club Team than, and within the same Club as, the Club Team to which he/she is registered
15.3 Providing that the play meets the age requirements, a higher level team referred to in Policy 15.1 (a) & (c) shall be defined as a team which meets any of the following criteria.
a) registered in a higher age classification;
b) registered in a higher player classification;
c) registered in a higher team classification;
d) playing in a higher league level; or
e) playing in a higher division of the same league
